CWNews.com – South Korea’s churches have issued a challenge to the global Christian community to pray for the North.
They have proclaimed 2007 the year of prayer for North Korea.
Korean church leaders say they’re anguished over the spiritual darkness and suffering in North Korea.
They note that, 100 years ago, Pyongyang experienced a spiritual revival that shook the Korean peninsula.
They believe that the anniversary of that revival is the best time for intense prayer on behalf of North Korea.
North Korean Christians pay the highest price for the smallest acts of faith.
The World Bible translation center reports that in January, North Korean authorities executed an evangelist for possessing and distributing the New Testament in the Korean language.
The ministry says that those found with Bibles face a minimum sentence of 13 years imprisonment. The maximum sentence is death.
