Shroud Exhibition News & An Important Announcement

August 5, 2009

As I reported previously, the final dates of the 2010 Shroud Exhibition are 10 April 2010 to 23 May 2010. Reservations
and tickets will be required, although admission is free.  Ultimately,
you will be able to make your reservations by telephone or online via
the Archdiocese of Turin website, but that service is not scheduled to become available until October 2009! As soon as it goes online I will notify you via e-mail and the website.
As I did for the previous Shroud exhibitions in 1998 and 2000, I will be working with Canterbury Tours,
an experienced pilgrimage tour company. I will meet with each tour
group upon their arrival at the hotel in Turin, give each group a
private presentation, have dinner with them and visit the Shroud with
them the next day.  If you book any of the tours listed on the
Canterbury Tours website, they will make the appropriate reservations
to see the Shroud for you.  You will NOT need to make the reservations
There are a number of different tour packages
that have been created, including a short tour that only includes
Turin.  I will be in Turin May 10 through May 20, 2010, so if you wish
to be part of a tour that I will personally be involved with, you can
book one within those dates. However, other dates are available if
these don’t fit into your schedule.

You can find details on the specific tours available and pricing/reservation information online at the Canterbury Tours Website
Please contact the company directly with any specific questions you
might have and to book your reservations. Please book early as demand
is high.

As for the Important Announcement I mentioned above, I am very pleased to inform you that our new non-profit organization, the Shroud of Turin Education and Research Association, Inc. (STERA, Inc.),
has received final approval and 501(c)(3) non-profit status from the
IRS. In the near future, the new organization will become the publisher
and owner of shroud.com and I will become its Executive Director. I
will publicly announce the formation of STERA, Inc. in the next website
update (by the end of August), so you are getting the news before
The good news is that $200.00 of each full tour
purchased will be donated directly to STERA, Inc., and each purchaser
will receive a tax deductible receipt for that amount directly from
STERA. If you choose one of the short tours, a lesser amount (to be
determined) will still be donated to STERA, Inc. and you will receive a
receipt for that amount. As you can see, there are a lot of changes
Let me also take this opportunity to thank you
all again for your continued support and participation. It is truly
appreciated. And don’t forget to check the Private Subscribers
Page (see the link below) from time to time for exclusive offers and
materials not available to the general public.

Warmest regards,
