The Shroud of Turin Website

2010 Exhibition & Tour Info Updated

More on Garlaschelli and Sad News, Again

November 3, 2009

Just a brief note to let you know that the website has been updated today. You can find all the details on the Late Breaking Website News page.

This update includes the latest information on the 2010 Shroud Exhibition, including links to the online registration system at sindone.org (which will not become operational until December 2009) and a link to the  Archdiocese of Turin English Language FAQ Page where you can check for the latest news and reservation system status yourself.

Also updated are several links on the Shroud Exhbitions page and the addition of several new professional travel companies offering tours to see the Shroud during the 2010 Exhibition to the Tours To Turin page.

This update includes an important new article by Dr. Thibault Heimburger that addresses the claims made by Professor Luigi Garlaschelli last month. Thibault provides a detailed overview of Garlaschelli’s techniques and a point by point comparison between Garlaschelli’s results and the image on the Shroud. The article includes 12 color photomicrographs and illustrations. Also included is a link to an online article by Professor Bruno Barberis of the International Centre of Sindonology in Turin, that provides further challenges to Garlaschelli’s claims.

On a sadder note, this update also includes a Memorial to John Brown, noted materials scientist who provided the first corroboration of Ray Rogers‘ observations in 2005. John passed away at his home on September 23, 2009, after a long illness. Our deepest sympathies go out to his family and friends.

One final note: My appearance on the Coast To Coast talk radio program with George Noory has been rescheduled to Thursday night, December 17, 2009, (early Friday morning, December 18, 2009), when the entire program will be dedicated to the Shroud.

Let me also take this opportunity to thank you all again for your continued support and participation. It is truly appreciated. And don’t forget to check the Private Subscribers Page from time to time for exclusive offers and materials not available to the general public.

Warmest regards,
