Summer Fête

Dear Subscriber,

The unabashed joy exuded by the little boy in Janet Scudder’s Frog Fountain seems particularly suited to summer, and we encourage you to visit the American Wing to see this delightful work. Come back often to enjoy an array of special exhibitions. And don’t miss the glamorous, Members-only Summer Fête on July 15, where you can dance and mingle among all of the beautiful sculptures on view in The Charles Engelhard Court, Frog Fountain included. With warm best wishes,

"Picasso" Director’s Video

In this video, Thomas P. Campbell, director of the Metropolitan Museum, and Gary Tinterow, the Engelhard Chairman of the Department of Nineteenth-Century, Modern, and Contemporary Art, have a lively discussion about Picasso in The Metropolitan Museum of Art. This landmark exhibition reflects the full breadth of Picasso’s multi-sided genius as it asserted itself over the course of his long and influential career. See the online preview for more information, including sponsorship credits. Please note that this exhibition has been extended through Sunday, August 15.

Membership dues allow us to keep special exhibitions free for Museum visitors. Consider becoming a Member: not only will you receive free admission as one of many benefits, but your generosity will help the Met in countless ways.

During this period, visitors who are not able to use stairs can access the Museum through the Ruth and Harold D. Uris Center for Education entrance at 81st Street, which is level with the plaza in front of the Museum to the south of the main entrance. See our floor plan.

Planned Giving: A Gift to the Met and Payments to You

Support the future of the Metropolitan Museum and create a stream of payments for yourself or someone you care about with a charitable gift annuity. With a gift of $10,000 or more, a charitable gift annuity offers fixed payments for life, a current tax deduction for a portion of the gift, and protection from stock market volatility. Payments can also be deferred until a later date, which increases the payments and deduction. In addition, the American Council on Gift Annuities has increased those rates slightly for individuals aged 65 to 81, effective July 1.

For more information, please call the Planned Giving Program at 212-570-3796 or email us at You may also visit us online.
