Atman is another word that has for quite some time infiltrated the English language. This and other Hindu words have entered every day English. I imagine this may have first occurred during England‘s colonialization of India. Hindu spiritualism came to the forefront when the Beatles went to India to learn about Hinduism. All their fans began to follow suit, taking on yoga along the way. The movement added to the hippie subculture. Enjoy!
