I came across this word today on an Internet news site: Global ‘netizens’ worried over US spying.
Now, I had never heard of this word before. It’s a rather self-explanatory word. Still, I couldn’t resist a look-see. Here is what the Urban Dictionary had to say:
Netizen
This word is a variant on citizen. A person who interacts with others on the internet. In effect, anyone who uses the internet becomes a netizen.
“As netizens, we have a responsibility to ensure that social customs are adhered to.”
